Hi, my name is

Jiamin Jiang(江佳珉)

Ph.D. Student @ NKU

I am currently a first year Ph. D. candidate at the College of Software, Nankai University, advised by my insightful supervisor Prof. Yongqian Sun and Prof. Shenglin Zhang. I received Master’s degree in Computer Science from the College of Computer Science and Software at Shenzhen University in 2024. Previously, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from the School of Computer Science at Zhuhai College, Beijing Institute of Technology in 2021.

About Me

I graduated from Shenzhen University in 2024, where I conducted in-depth research on LoRa wireless network optimization under the supervision of Prof. Lu Wang. My work focused on improving both the physical and MAC layers of LoRa networks, among other aspects. From 2024 to 2025, I worked as a research assistant at the IoT Research Center of Shenzhen University, continuing my research from my master’s studies.

In 2025, I joined the AIOps Lab at Nankai University, where I am currently conducting research on failure detection, diagnosis, and prediction under the guidance of Prof. Yongqian Sun and Prof. Shenglin Zhang.

Research Interest:

  1. Failure detection, diagnosis, and prediction.

  2. Wireless systems and networking.

Research Methodology:

  1. Theoretical modeling: Anomaly detection, time-series analysis, large language model, machine learning, deep learning, probabilistic and statistical models.
  2. Industry deployment: Model integration and validation on enterprise-scale AIOps platforms in collaboration with companies such as Huawei, ByteDance, and Tencent.

Experience

Java Developer - OOCL
July 2019 - Dec 2019
I am currently working as a software developer at example org. in San Francisco, CA. I am currently working on a project that will be used to help people find the best way to get around the city.

Education

2025 - now
Ph.D. in Software Engineering
Nankai University, College of Software
2021 - 2024
Master in Computer Science
Shenzhen University, College of Computer Science and Software Engineering

Initiated and independently led the deployment of a LoRa-based IoT network environment before formal admission into the graduate program. Authored and published two first-author papers on LoRa network optimization:

  • DCSS-LoRa: Proposed a novel modulation and demodulation technique named Dual Chirp Spread Spectrum (DCSS). By leveraging the structure of LoRa preambles, the method modulates data via frequency differences with a reference upchirp, embedding additional data into the preamble to enhance transmission efficiency.
  • SlideLoRa: Developed the first reliable and efficient channel detection system for LoRa networks. It monitors all logical channels with diverse conditions. The core technique introduces sliding-window-based peak feature recovery, enabling extraction of symbol features under different channel states and significantly improving detection reliability.

Granted a Chinese patent on LoRa network recovery: “A Cluster-based Low-Power Wide Area Network Recovery Method”, focusing on efficient and robust recovery strategies for LPWAN environments.

2016 - 2020
Bachelor in Software Engineering
Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai, School of Computer Science
Gained solid foundational knowledge in J2EE-based web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, and backend frameworks such as SSH (Struts, Spring, Hibernate) and SSM (Spring, SpringMVC, MyBatis).
